tek's ZenFone proves popular at Taipei computer expo



tek's low-cost ZenFone models have become the star products at the Spring Computer Fair in Taipei, drawing more than 1,000 pre-orders on ch day of the weekend.
The new ZenFone models were welcomed by local consumers, who plan to buy them gifts for Mother's Day, which is celebrated in rly May, the Taiwanese PC maker said on Sunday in a press relse.
The ZenFone line in Taiwan starts at NT$4,990 (US$170) for a 5-inch model and NT$6,490 (US$215) for a 6-inch model, with actual shipments scheduled to begin by the end of this month, according to tek.
The Spring Computer Fair, one of the major electronics trade shows in Taiwan, was forecast to attract about 200,000 visitors this weekend, according to the organizers.
The trade show, which kicked off on April 17, will run through Monday at the Taipei World Trade Center, fturing 200 suppliers of electronics products such as computers, smart and high-definition s at 1,100 booths.
